No one outside the institution shall have access to nor will the institution disclose any information from a student’s educational records without the written consent of the student, except authorized personnel within the institution in which the student seeks to enroll, persons or organizations providing student financial aid, accrediting agencies carrying out their accreditation function, 如果此类学生正在接受此类机构的调查，并且该机构表明此类数据对于调查、遵守司法命令的人员以及处于紧急命令中的人员来说是必要的，以保护学生或其他人的健康或安全。

FERPA protects a student's right to privacy. The law does allow the College to share, without written permission of the student, "directory information," unless the student has indicated that he/she desires this information be restricted from release without consent.

Please note that a FERPA hold restricts announcements of honors and awards, including the Dean’s List and commencement program, along with the ability for employers to verify student degree information.
